We had a wonderful time entertaining for this energectic couple on their wedding day!

Guests began to arrive a little earlier than expected, no problem since we were setup and ready to go early.  We played the best of love songs from just about every decade for coctails and continued in that vein durring dinner after the grand introductions.

We had a lot of fun with their grand introductions doing them like a ring announcer to the music of 2 Unlimited – Get Ready For This.  We started with the Best Man and Groomsmen and introduced them like a team of sports players coming onto the court.   Then it was on to the Matron of Honor and Bridesmaids who were introduced with their 4-5 year old sons as escorts.   Finally we had everyone standing and introduced Kelsey and Matt as the main event to a roaring crowd!

Durring cocktails and dinner some of the kids were dancing and enjoying themselves as we moved from dinner to the formalities.

I think the kids had just as much fun as the adults playing in the wash of light and sound!

With the sounds of the 80′s to Today’s Top 40 we had the dance floor filled most of the night with some of the most energetic dancers I’ve seen and they all seemed to be having a lot of fun.  Which is pretty evident in the video below.

Chrystal Ballroom at the Lerner Theater, Elkhart

This past Saturday, April 28, 2012, I had the privilege of celebrating the union of Courtney and Jeremy Sponseller at the lovely Chrystal Ballroom located inside the Lerner Theater downtown Elkhart Indiana.

This was a much anticipated event as I was to provide up-lighting, live texting via FireText, a video photo show, master of ceremonies and of course sound.   I’m glad that I had such a great couple to work with, which really made bringing all of this technology to one event well worth it.  The results, which is what really matters, were fantastic!

Once the lighting was set and the house lights came down a very romantic feeling was created in tastefully placed blue up-lights.  Each table was adorned in beautiful flowers in various shades of blue and accented with votive candles.  All-in-all adding a note of sweetness to the room and each table.

I placed their customized monogram/live texting screen up on the west screen and their guests took full advantage of it by texting warm sentiments and marital advice, along with cute jokes for all of the guests to enjoy.  These messages of love have been saved and later I will created a remembrance book for Courtney and Jeremy to enjoy and share at future anniversaries or just whenever they want to re-live this day.

As the guests started to arrive I played music that ranged from classic crooner music to smooth jazz at a comfortable level.  This way the guests could socialize with one another before the party music started after dinner when all of the formalities were done.

Once the party music started the place was jumping!  Through the rest of the evening we played music that ranged from today’s Top 40 to Classic Hip-Hop, Rock and even some Country music.  Everyone seemed to have enjoyed the music selection as  saw many smiles and silly dance moves all night long….  I think they had as much fun dancing as I did watching them dance.

Congratulations Courtney and Jeremy Sponseller I hope you had as much fun as I did!

Total Impact DJ Service was honored to be a part of bringing life to the City of Elkhart’s downtown area restaurants and pubs with Pillar’s: Trudge for Suds 2012.

People from all over Elkhart came out to enjoy music, drink and food at some of Elkhart’s finest eateries and Crimaldi’s was one of them.  Located on E Jackson Blvd., it is very easy to find.

It’s a small place, so if you are planning a reception or get together keep that in mind.  But, where it lacks in space it makes up for in that great hometown feel.  The food is excellent and I’d highly recommend the steak!

Setup:

Last nights setup was a simple one.  I ran two sets of speakers one, as you see pictured on the right, in the main dining room and a second set on the other side in the bar area.  I kept things compact to conserve space and to allow more room for patrons to dine in comfort on either side.

With this configuration we had our audio settings set to mono so that each side of the restaurant could hear the same thing.  It sounded great and the crowd sure enjoyed it!

For the tech. geeks here’s what’s in the rack from top to bottom: Denon MC6000 Mixer, Behringer Mic Mixer, Shure PGX 24/58  wireless mic, EV RE-1 wireless mic and down below that is a DBX Drive Racks PA system management, for amplification we have an EV Q-99 for my top speakers and a QSC RMX 2450 to power my subs.  This all feeds a pair of EV Tour X 15″ full range speakers and a pair of EV Tour X 18″ sub-woofers.

This setup is great for events both large and small!

Enough of the techno-mumbo-jumbo…

Once things got rolling it was standing room only!  Folks came and went but, it always seemed that the bar was full.  The dining room saw very little use aside from the early diner’s that stopped in just before 7pm.  The party kicked off at 8pm and we provided “Crooner” style music and other’s like Doo-Wop from the 50s to 60s.

The theme for the Trudge for Suds was “Party like it’s 1962… “Mad Men” style.” and we had folks in like this couple who were dressed to the nines!

I had a lot of fun playing music from a long ago era and creating memories to last a life time for Elkhart’s finest trudgers!

Event Location: Carmela’s at Macri’s – South Bend

This was our final wedding of the year.  We celebrated the union of Vicki and Keven DeCraene at Carmela’s at Macri’s in South Bend Indiana on December 30, 2011.   We couldn’t have asked for a more romantic setting then Carmela’s.  The setting was beautiful and the food was delicious, a great choice for a wedding reception or any elegant event.

Our setup for this reception was a simple one with just two speakers, our lighted facade and some simple lighting to set a mood of romance and later an exciting and entertaining party mood.

For the Grand Introductions we used “Crazy Little Thing Called Love” by Queen and brought the wedding party in rock n’ roll style to the cheers of their gathered friends and family.

Through careful planning the evening went smoothly flowing from dinner to cake cutting and on to their first dance as husband and wife to the tune “It’s Your Love” by Tim McGraw & Faith Hill.

We then invited Larry, Vicki’s father, to the dance floor to join her in the traditional Father & Daughter dance to “The Way You Look Tonight” by Frank Sinatra.

Just before we opened the dance floor we did the Anniversary dance.  If you don’t know what the Anniversary dance is, it is where we have all the married couples to the dance floor and we start pealing away the couples starting with those that have been married for less than a day until we get to our longest married couple(s).  This gives us a chance to get some words of advice from the longest married couple(s) on how to maintain a long and loving marriage.  We had a lot of long married couples, many were married beyond 20 years but, we finally narrowed it down to two couples of 50 and 56 years of marriage and invited Kevin and Vicki out for some words of advice.  It was a moment I think all will cherish for a lifetime.

Once open dancing started we played a wide variety of music ranging in style from Country to Top 40 and ended the night with their last dance to “Live Like You Were Dying” by Tim McGraw and all of their friends and family joined them on the dance floor in celebration of the love that brought them together.

Location: The Bread & Chocolate at The Old Bag Factory in Goshen, IN

Andrew and Rachel Davis’ wedding reception was set in the rustic setting that is the Bread & Chocolate located in The Old Bag Factory in Goshen Indiana.  Originally an actual bag factory, it has been beautifully renovated into a rustic setting for shopping and events.

Planning their wedding day from their hometown was a breeze with our online planning tools they were able to provide complete detail on how they wished their day to unfold.  Every detail was coverd from cocktail music to their last dance and all of the wedding traditions in between.

Musical Highlights:

• Cake cutting was done to “When I’m Sixty-Four” by the Beatles
• Andrew and Rachel danced their first dance as husband and wife to a beautiful selection, “Love Me Tender” by Elvis Presley.  They spun and twirled around the dance floor to the cheers and delight of all guests present.
• For the traditional Father & Daughter dance Rachel and her father danced to “Because You Loved Me” by Celine Dion.
• For the Mother & Son dance Andrew and his mother danced to a classic, “Simple Man” by Lynyrd Skynyrd.
• The wedding party was invited to dance to “I’ll Be There For You” by The Remembrants, and they had a ball with this.  Acting out some of the more memorable dance moves of the charatures from the TV series “Friends” which made for great memories.
• Once open dancing started some of the more popular dance tunes were songs like “The Cha Cha Slide” by Casper and “Rock Show” by Blink-182, and many more.
• Andrew and Rachel danced their last dance of the evening to “Goodnight Moon” by Go Radio and invited their friends and family to join them on the dance floor for a shared moment none will soon forget.

We had a fantastic time entertaning Andrew & Rachel and their friends & family and wish them a long and happy marriage!
